Finished Our new Advent Calendar...

I printed The Christmas Story in Luke chapters 1 and 2. I glued a few verses for each night in the lid. By Christmas morning, we will have read the whole Christmas Story. I think my girls are going to love the special treats each day too!

Gearing up for Christmas...

My most favorite time of the year! Trying to get everything done early so that we can sit back, relax, and enjoy the season!
My first project was my Niece & Nephew Gifts (along with my girls of course)...
Very pleased with the way these turned out... I can hardly wait to see them all running around the house in their Super Hero Capes acting like "Super Heroes!" I think I may even make them some Marshmallow Shooters this week :)

A Few Camp Food Favorites...

I've really been enjoying making these EXTRA special pancakes! They are fun and easy. I made up the pancake batter and colored with food coloring and stored in squeeze bottles before we left.
So for camp breakfast I just needed the griddle and some fresh ideas!
The kids were loving all the Bear Lake Monster Stories,
so I thought that would be perfect for breakfast!
Pita Pizzas on the girl are another all time favorite. I prepare all the toppings (cutting of all the veggies etc.) at home in advance. When it's time for dinner, I pull out the toppings and everyone gets to build their own Pizza on Pita bread the way they like it! Just wipe the grill down with Olive Oil and cook each pizza over medium heat 8-10 Minutes.
We've always enjoyed Kabobs, but have had a hard time keeping them from drying out. Dipping Sauce fixes that and Trader Joe's Dipping Sauce is SUPER Yummy!
In case you were wondering, those cute little sauce/syrup cups can be found at  Shop Sweet Lulu

Beautiful Bear Lake

Beautiful Bear Lake... Nicknamed the Caribbean of The Rockey Mountains for it's amazing Turquoise waters and sandy beaches. We love this place and have decided it's the closest thing to the ocean in Utah. We have made it a family tradition to camp here every Labor Day.
We say goodbye to Summer here every year.
Can't do Bear Lake without a Raspberry Shake at Merlin's!

Pancakes for the Birthday Boy

Pancakes for the Birthday Boy...
We were inspired by this blog Jenni Price Illustration  and pleasantly surprised by how easy it was to do! We may never eat regular pancakes again ;)

Happy Birthday to my Babe!

The Big Girl turned 7...

We had a blast celebrating with a very fun "Pretend Camp-Out!"
Since this was a big "7" Birthday, the kids all got a glow-in-the-dark "7" Shirt!
These were very easy and inexpensive. I watched the sales at Hobby Lobby and got the shirts for $1.50. I just used no-sew "Heat n Bond" and ironed it onto bright colored fabric and then cut out several #7's. I then ironed the "7"'s onto the T-Shirts and trimmed the edges with Glow-in-the dark puffy paint!
They turned out great and are so fun for camping after dark.
The kids also made Glow-In-The-Dark bead necklaces.
Everyone had a great time cooking their own food at the camp-out, and the make-shift fence made it safe ;) Obviously food prep was a cinch, since everyone made their own grub! We had a few different varieties of hot dogs, a big batch of Baked Beans in the crock-pot,
and I had made some yummy fruit kabobs earlier in the day and called it good!
The Hobo Bags were a big hit and so cute... they were the Scavenger Hunt Prize.
The Scavenger Hunt was awesome. It was a very easy list, of random things the kids collected in the yard like leaves, flowers, rocks, colors, and trash.
(Trash was the smartest idea because it  got things cleaned up quick!)
The Hobo Bags were filled with Camping essentials like a compass, small flashlight, and other treats!
Everything was fun, but if you were to ask the kids, I think most of them would say that the "Sasquatch" story was the best part!
Can't believe my baby's 7... But time flies when you're having fun!

Summer (Rock) Pets

What's Summer without a pet or 2???

So after being totally grossed out after Big Sister found this...
I decided it was time to get the paints out...
And make these cute Little Fellas...
AND don't forget... Every Pet (Rock) needs a good name!

And aren't rock turtles so much cleaner cuter than Snails? ;)

Stay tuned...

Trying to figure this whole blog thing out. We plan to start sharing the fun things we do... Recipes, Crafts and Ideas!
